The Dark Candle

Dear Friends of Rhemalovers,

There are many people in this world who lose loved ones and instead of mourning their loss as the Bible says we should, they in turn continue in mourning not allowing themselves to get back up and continue on. When Aaron died in the Old Testament, all the House of Israel mourned for him thirty days. When it came time for Moses to die, the children of Israel wept for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 34:8, “The days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.” According to God's Word we are to mourn our losses healthily, and not continue in mourning months or years after our loved ones have passed on. We must be strong for those who are still with us and show them that it's okay to stand up and continue on in life. (Numbers 20:23-29) (Deut. 34:5-8)

I hope this message encourages your heart not to stay stagnant if you've lost a loved one recently, but rather remember the great times that you shared together and resolve to stand up and live your life where they would be proud of how you are continuing on.

THE DARK CANDLE
Author Unknown

A man had a little daughter -- an only and much-beloved child. He lived for her -- she was his life. So when she became ill and her illness resisted the efforts of the best obtainable physicians, he became like a man possessed, moving heaven and earth to bring about her restoration to health.
His best efforts proved unavailing and the child died. The father was totally irreconcilable. He became a bitter recluse, shutting himself away from his many friends and refusing every activity that might restore his poise and bring him back to his normal self. But one night he had a dream.
He was in Heaven, and was witnessing a grand pageant of all the little child angels. They were marching in an apparently endless line past the Great White Throne. Every white-robed angelic child carried a candle. He noticed that one child's candle was not lighted. Then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl. Rushing to her, while the pageant faltered, he seized her in his arms, caressed her tenderly, and then asked: “How is it, darling that your candle alone is unlighted?” “Father, they often relight it, but your tears always put it out.”
Just then he awoke from his dream. The lesson was crystal clear, and its effects were immediate. From that hour on he was not a recluse, but mingled freely and cheerfully with his former friends and associates. No longer would his darling's candle be extinguished by his useless tears.
Addendum -- Psalms 56:13 nkjv “For You have delivered my soul from death. Have you not kept my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the Light of the living?”

Dear Father,
In whom there is no darkness at all, Strengthen me with all power, according to Your great might, so that I can both endure and be patient, even having great joy while enduring, always giving thanks to You, my heavenly Father. Please qualify me to share in the inheritance in the light of Your dedicated and holy people. Thank You for rescuing me from the realm of darkness and putting me safely into the kingdom of Jesus, the dear Son whom You love, and whom I love, through whom I have my redemption, the forgiveness of sins. In the name of Jesus, our awesome Lord. Amen and Amen
