Let's hang on and see breakthrough comes as we keep our eyes on God who is sovereign in His majestic ways and miraculous power to overcome every sickness, pain, hurt, etc.

Mediate on Proverbs 3 : 5-6

5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;

don't try to figure out everything on your own.

Lord Jesus, let us fixed our eyes on You and You alone despite our circumstances. Keep us from any danger that have been lurking around us. We know You are a God of Breakthrough. Nothing is impossible with you. All things are possible. We cannot thank you enough for what You are going to do for us. All glory and praise goes to You and You alone. What are we saved from by Pastor Rony Tan on 22 May 2011

What do Jesus save us from?
- From the power of sin
- Penalty of sin which causes eternal destruction to Hell
- Save us from the person of sin

1) Saved us from the power of sin

Romans 6 : 14
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 3 : 23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Isaiah 53:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24

New King James Version (NKJV)

24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Psalm 103:3-4

New King James Version (NKJV)

3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies

He will crown us with lovingkindness and tender mercies.

Psalm 103 : 12

12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We have a recourse with Jesus Christ. Jesus will declare us as righteous when we go to Him. Sin will not have dominion over us.

2) Saved from the penalty of sin

Romans 6 : 12 - Saved from eternal death

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Read Mark 9 & Luke 16 --> In hell, our bodies don't die. Being cast into the lakes of fire.

We are all accountable to God for what we do.

Isaiah 14 : 9

New King James Version (NKJV)

9 “ Hell from beneath is excited about you,
To meet you at your coming;
It stirs up the dead for you,
All the chief ones of the earth;
It has raised up from their thrones
All the kings of the nations.

Turn to Christ and deny hell. Without Jesus Christ, people are pulled to the bottomless pit.

Galatians 6 : 7-10

New King James Version (NKJV)

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The law of sowing and reaping. Galatians 7 : 9 speaks of do not grow weary while doing good.

3. Saved from the person of sin.

His top priority is to destroy our faith in Christ during our decision in life. When our attitude is excellent, it will cause our faith to be very high.

Genesis 4 : 6-7 (The beginning of bad attitude)

So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Psalm 17 : 12

12 As a lion is eager to tear his prey,
And like a young lion lurking in secret places.

1 Peter 5 : 8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because[c] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Faith and attitude goes hand-in-hand.

Ephesians 4 : 27
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

James 4 : 7-8
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
